AGC TECHNOVATION CENTRE opened in the presence of His Majesty the King.
His Majesty the King opened the AGC Glass Europe AGC Technovation Centre, designed by ASSAR, on 5th November in Gosselies (Charleroi). The AGC Technovation Centre brings together, develops and improves new glass product processes for the construction and automotive industries.
250 researchers, technicians and engineers can now enjoy cutting-edge facilities where the management of the spaces (offices, laboratories and semi-industrial pilot facilities) is designed to encourage communication between and within the teams working on the site. In addition, the new site based right in the heart of the Aéropôle technology park in Gosselies reaps the rewards of a network of industries, laboratories and universities that attract international researchers and encourage the development of working relationships between businesses. Designed as a technological showcase of research and development achievements, the AGC Technovation Centre is set to become the AGC group’s worldwide centre of excellence for glass in architecture. “This tool will encourage the emergence of new glassmaking solutions for our clients, while also reducing their development time. The scope of our research will be even broader”, sums up Jean-François Heris, Chairman and CEO of AGC Glass Europe.
