This project perfectly illustrates the motto “We make corridors interesting” in an urban environment. The circulation spaces of this residential care centre have been delimited as little as possible to avoid creating or defining corridors. As a result living and circulating blend in seamlessly. You can circulate in any which direction on every plateau, which only enhances the experience and the centre’s homey nature.
We developed a compact design, due to the limited surface area, the budgetary restrictions and the desire to build the most sustainable building possible. There are no dark interiors anywhere in the building thanks to the central patio, which also contributes to creating interesting circulation spaces. Moreover the patio is a focal point and a place where the outside world blends in with the individual living environments.
